The Frost 100 × 100 cm uses LEE 251 Quarter White Diffusion – light diffusion that, per LEE, transmits 80% of the light (⅓ EV loss). This is the sheet alone, intended to be stretched onto a frame.
Placing the frost in front of the light enlarges the source and softens shadows; the farther the frost is from the light, the softer and larger the light. The fabric attaches to a frame of the same size, for example with clips or hook-and-loop tape.

Why Frost 1/4 100 × 100 cm – LEE 251 Quarter White Diffusion
- Defined diffusion – According to LEE, LEE 251 Quarter White Diffusion has a light loss of ⅓ EV.
- Softer shadows – A larger source gives a softer transition between light and shadow.
- Quick swap – The film can be quickly swapped for another density.
- Standard LEE – LEE numbering makes communication with the crew easier.
