NiSi Black Mist 1/4 is a diffusion filter made of optical glass in a brass frame with 77 mm thread. It scatters the bright parts of the image, lifts shadows and evens the tonal range.
The effect is most pronounced when backlit and with light sources in frame. NiSi offers 1/8, 1/4 and 1/2 strengths, with each step roughly doubling the intensity – choose a different strength for a softer or stronger look.
