RØDE VideoMicro is a compact on-camera condenser microphone with cardioid pattern and 100 Hz – 20 kHz range. It is powered by the camera (plug-in power, min. 3 V), measures 80 mm and weighs 42 g.
It mounts in the shoe of a DSLR or mirrorless camera and noticeably improves sound compared to the built-in microphone. The Rycote Lyre suspension dampens vibration and the WS9 windshield helps outdoors in wind; the camera must provide plug-in power.
